Travellers Rest
Folk Club
AT THE CROWN OTFORD, KENT
 Our Venue
The Crown Inn is situated right in the centre of Otford village,
easy to find (overlooking the duckpond roundabout) Easy parking, friendly bar staff, a warm welcome and real ales.
The crown makes an excellent traditional venue for a folk club, having been built in 1560 (around the same era as the derelict palace opposite) and in continuous use since. It was first a coaching inn and during the 19th century a hotel. Four ghosts are reported to roam the Inn but none have sung at the club -  as far as we can tell!
About the Club
The ethos of our club is that the music should be live, usually acoustic and that singers, musicians and audience should enjoy themselves. We book guests monthly, but always try to include at least one spot for each of our floor singers. Music is mostly, but not exclusively traditional, and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, if this sounds like what you are looking for, please come and join us. We do not charge an admittance, but do anticipate that you will be generous with the hat and raffle collection, the proceeds of which go to our excellent, booked monthly guest(s). Please take a look around this site to see what is on offer for 2011 - and a flavour of what has gone before.
